Lose One Pound a Week
Good morning everyone! Snow in midwest Wisconsin- again. I'm beginning to wonder if we will even have a spring or summer.
I recently found a site with a 'calories burned' calculator. All you need to add is your weight and the type of exercise you performed. It lists anywhere from washing dishes to zumba. As most of us know, to lose one pound per week we need to burn 3500 more calories than we take in. That averages out to 500 calories a day. What are some things we can do to reach this goal? (these are based on a 150 pound woman.) The more you weigh, the more calories you burn.
1. Clean the house for 2 hours while listening to music.
2. Garden for an hour and a half.
3. One hour of Zumba
4.Play with your kids for 90 minutes.
5. Hula hoop for 50 minutes.
6. Busy day? Jump rope for 10 minutes. Do this 5 times a day or add to other suggestions.
7. If you are a soda drinker- drink 3 less cans a day.
8. Fidget. People who are constantly tapping their foot or walking around the house while talking on the phone are staying active.
9. Walk for 90 minutes at 3 mph.
10. Dance for two hours.
Break it up by selecting a few things to do throughout the day. The idea is not to get bored!
